We've been making plans for the garden over the last few weeks and I can't wait to get started! We have a week booked off in June when we're planning to make a real start on our plans, which to begin with will involve getting the ground level, adding paving and laying turf. Of course the part I'm really looking forward to is getting some plants in!
We'll be doing the majority of the decorative/cosmetic elements next year, including a fairy-light covered pergoda across the back fence, lots of flower beds, a pretty seating area and a built in barbecue and pizza oven! (Our garden plans are being inspired by the garden restaurants we ate in during our honeymoon in Sorrento) But of course I can't wait that long to put any plants in! We're planning to put a few in for now in the hopes that they start to grow and establish themselves before we do the rest of the work. So last week we made a trip to a local garden centre and picked out a few (hopefully) easy to care for things to get us started!
When we looked at the back of our car all filled up with plans, our money seemed to go quite far...
But when we got them home and put them in the garden, its clear we'll be needing quite a few more trips to get the garden looking as full as we'd like it! (This is just a small fraction of one of 3 large flower beds we're planning!)
