This weekend started with one of the tasks I've been excited to do for a few weeks now: putting the paint testers on the wall in the loft room! After weeks of insulation, pulling down ceilings, cutting & filling holes, and lots of white undercoat, it was exciting to do something "pretty"!

At the moment we're thinking of the colour on the right, with some white added in to make it a little lighter. This will be going on one wall in the loft room, with the rest of the walls, woodwork and ceiling all remaining white to keep it nice and bright up there.

In complete contrast to pretty paint colours, our next task for the weekend was to take down a cupboard door and the wall above it!

We're having a new boiler installed this week, and its going in what was the airing cupboard (where the old water tank is currently located). We'll then be turning this area in to more of an extension of the kitchen, rather than a cupboard. We'll have some more kitchen units out there (one of which will be hiding the boiler), a tumble dryer, work tops and the microwave. None of that will be happening for a while as we're not working on the kitchen until after Easter, but this but had to be done now to make room for the boiler installation.

As a side note, we can't wait to finally be able to wash our hands in our water later this week! The central heating has been working fine but we haven't had any hot water since we got the keys! (One of the main reasons we haven't moved in yet!)

This week we'll be working on the main bedroom, preparing the skirting boards to be painted, and generally getting the room ready for painting & carpeting.
